• Intertek Group plc has bought CML Biotech, testing laboratory and consulting business for the oil and gas industry and holdco to the Commercial Microbiology Group, for £8 million
  
  
• Leicester-based pensions consultancy Mattoli Woods plc has acquired John Bradley Financial Services and North Star, together the JB Group, for up to £2.6 million

• Hochschild Mining plc has acquired a 20 per cent stake in Toronto-listed gold company Lake Shore Gold Corp for C$64.4 million (£32.9 million) cash in order to capture exposure to high-grade gold resources

• Bilfinger Berger Industrial Services announces the double acquisition of Hydro Production Partner and Hydro Production Services for a combined total of NOK800 million (£76.7 million)

• Academy Learning, the parent company of Academy Internet, has bought Shoreham-based search marketing agency Site Visibility in a bid to become one of the UK’s leading digital agencies

• Tel Aviv-listed Delek Energy Systems has strengthened its oil and gas exploration and production operations in the US with the acquisition of Elk Resources Inc, a privately-held exploration and production company in Denver
