Today's deal headlines

Done deals:

Insite Service Management has paid £49 million for property protection firm Orbis, in a bid to increase its offering

JG Ross has acquired Jack Cooper to increase its bakery services

Medical devices firm Aerogen of Galway has been acquired by its management for some 20 million (£14.9 million)

Business process outsourcing company Xchangin plc has bought France-based Mercuris SA

Deals in the pipeline:

Belfast-based Wombat Financial Software is to be acquired by NYSE Euronext of New York for £102 million

Seawell is to expand its oil and gas operations with the purchase of fellow US-based Noble’s oilfield platform-drilling operation in Aberdeen

Estate agent King Sturge is in talks to acquire insolvency services firm Bache Treharne

Aerospace and defence supplier BAE Systems is to acquire Australian defence contractor Tenix Defence for up to AUD$ (£346.5 million)

Media and marketing firm Independent News and Media of Dublin is set to increase its stake in South African firm Clear Channel Independent to 100 per cent, for some 86.6 million (£64.7 million)
