In today’s headlines, Irvine Energy Plc has completed its acquisition of Metro Energy and Bridge Insurance Brokers has enlarged its offering with the acquisition of Chartwell Insurance Brokers

 

Done deals:

 

• CVS, a UK-based veterinary services provider, has acquired Axiom Lab, provider of diagnostic laboratory services to third party veterinary practices, for £4.04 million in a bid to strengthen its biochemistry and allergy testing capacity
  
  
• AIM-listed oil and gas exploration and production company Irvine Energy Plc has completed its purchase of oil and gas assets from its US partner Metro Energy, announced in July
  
  
• William Sinclair Holdings Plc, a UK producer of commercial horticulture and garden products, has bought Joseph Metcalf, a horticultural products company based in the northwest of England, for £2.95 million
  
  
• Bridge Insurance Brokers, a Manchester-based independent commercial insurer, has bought neighbouring firm Chartwell Insurance Brokers based in Warrington

• York-based Wallis Business Services is to merge with Central Stationers in Darlington in a bid to create a combined stationary group
  
  
• In line with the its strategy to develop its packaging distribution businesses, Glasgow-based packaging solutions group Macfarlane has agreed to acquire Online Packaging for some £5.1 million
