• Belgian frozen food business Pinguin has tied up a deal valued at £17 million to acquire the frozen vegetable processing business of Christian Salvesen

• Pharmaceutical research company Chimatica has secured “significant” funding from NatWest in order to expand

• Educational services company Creative Education has fallen into administration through financial advisers Smith & Williamson

• Remote intervention and control technologies and services company Triton Group has acquired UK Project Support and its sister company Subco, which supply subsea equipment, for £10 million, according to press reports

• Motive Television has snapped up a 75% stake in TV production company Scarlet Television for undisclosed terms

• Health sector investor Zimed Holdings is set to complete the purchase of medical infusions business Zi Medical for an initial £1.2 million

• Intempo is looking to expand its electronic products business after securing £12 million of investment, including £1.8 million from the Hotbed private equity network

• Mobile phone-based information services provider Texperts, which provides the 82Ask service, is set to expand after securing £1.3 million of funding

• Structural steel group Severfield-Rowan is to acquire the holding company of Northern Irish firm Action Merchants for £90 million

• Concrete repair and building refurbishment company Makers is looking for a buyer within the next six months or it will face closure

• Boxall Sayer, Denley King and Fletcher McNeill are set to merge to create a combined quantity surveying group called Baqus, which is expected to raise £3 million in an AIM IPO this autumn

• Engineering solutions company Weir Group is to acquire Australian-based dewatering pump manufacturer Multiflo for £8.8 million
