Cobham completes US deal
Cobham added GMS, a designer and manufacturer of digital equipment, to its portfolio after paying $26 million (£14.7 million) in cash for the business.
The acquired company will trade as part of Cobham’s Avionics & Surveillance division and operate under its existing US special security agreements.
Cobham chief executive Allan Cook said the deal strengthens the group’s position in a growing market and adds complementary technologies to its business.
The deal also provides Cobham with access to new customers and expands its intelligence and surveillance operations to the West Coast.
Cobham provides components, sub-systems and services for airborne, marine and land applications.
GMS’ products include video surveillance and wireless video technologies, which are used by law enforcement and the national security and defence markets in the US as well as by broadcasters.
