SIG buys Window Fitters Mate
SIG plc, a supplier of insulation, roofing and commercial interior products, has bought Davies & Tate plc, the holding company of Window Fitters Mate, for an undisclosed sum.
The acquired business sells windows, doors, conservatories and ancillary products through a network of 23 branches in the Midlands and Southern England. Davies & Tate will continue to be managed by its chairman and managing director Philip Davies, who established the business in 1976.
Sheffield-based SIG is an international supplier of insulation, roofing, commercial interiors and specialist construction and safety products. It has operations in the UK, Ireland, France, the Benelux, Germany, Austria and Poland serving the building and construction markets.
Davies & Tate was established in 1976 to sell windows and doors in the Southeast of England. It has also managed refurbishment contracts for local authorities, utilities and other commercial organisations. The company, which is headquartered in Uckfield, East Sussex, also provides software for its industry.
Window Fitters Mate sells its products to independent window fitters, small builders, window companies and other trade customers through its 21 branches.
