OpenCloud secures £5.2 million
OpenCloud, a server provider to telecom companies, is to strengthen its products and sales operations after raising some £5.2 million in its first institutional funding round.
The funding was led by Advent Venture Partners and included investments from New Zealand venture capital firm No. 8 Ventures and communications group Motorola’s private equity firm Motorola Ventures.
OpenCloud was represented by Fiona Crawley, a counsel at Bryan Cave, who was supported by Estelle Unsworth.
Crawley said to complete the deal on time she had to overcome major challenges which arose from the diverse shareholding in the New Zealand company, a pre-condition of the investment in the new UK holding company.
Her team also had to accommodate the 13 hour time difference when liaising with Bell Gully on New Zealand law issues.
