Whittaker acquires local rival
Whittaker Office Supplies has bought fellow office eqipment retailer Brookes Office Products for an undisclosed sum. Both companies are based in Loughborough.
Brookes will continue to trade under the Brookes name, although it will become a division of Whittaker. Its managing director Chris Brookes will continue to run the company but will work closely with Whittaker’s chairman Kelvin Whittaker to ensure integration between the two.
Whittaker told reporters: “The merging of Whittaker Office Supplies and Brookes Office Products creates a strong foundation for accelerated growth in the office products arena by integrating the proven success in sales and logistics of both companies.”
