In today’s deal headlines retail group WHSmith plc has bought UNS Group for £19 million and print firm Academy Print Solutions has been bought by its management.

Done deals:

A consortium of Irish farmers has acquired a €12.2 million (£9.6 million) shopping centre in Saarbrücken, south-west Germany, led by financial services firm McQuinn Consulting (Source: Newsnow)

Qualcomm, a San Diego-based wireless technology and data developer, has acquired Xiam Technologies of Ireland for some $32 million (£15.9 million), a company of the same business (Source: irishdev.com)

Print firm Academy Print Solutions has been bought out of administration by its management, backed by asset-based lender Venture Finance

Construction giant, Balfour Beatty plc, has bought Dean & Dyball for £45 million, expanding its operations

Retail group WHSmith plc has bought UNS Group for £19 million, in order to expand its services into the UK hospital sector

Technology business Smiths Group plc has bought Texas-based lifting equipment manufacturer to the oil and gas industry, Fiber Composite Company, and is set to acquire a Dutch supplier of filters to the petrochemical and process industry, Indufil

Deals in the pipeline:

HSBC Environmental Infrastructure Fund is to invest £18 million in Partnerships for Renewables, a renewable energy project developer. A £30 million revolving fund is also available for an estimated £100 million of equity for projects in future
