Straight acquires Helesi
Recycling products distributor Straight has acquired the UK arm of Greece-based manufacturer Helesi for £1.7 million.
Based in Bradford, Helesi's UK business specialises in producing wheeled recycling containers. As part of the deal, the manufacturing operations will be outsourced to one of Straight's partners, and the products will be jointly branded "Helesi" and "Straight".
The deal comes after Straight bought Harcostar Garden Products, a supplier of watering cans and compost bins, for £400,000 in February last year.
In the six months ending June 2009, Leeds-based Straight reported revenue of £17.2 million and pre-tax profits of £951,000.
